Our Exam Center

The Alliance Française de Seattle is a major French language examination center in the Pacific Northwest.

We offer tests and exams based on the same levels as the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CECRL): A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2 and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL): (Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Superior).

TEF

The tests TEF is a reliable measurements for determining proficiency and are only valid for a limited period of time.

Created and accredited by the Paris Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Test d’Evaluation de Français (TEF) is an international benchmark test that measures your level of knowledge and skills in French.  The TEF provides confirmation of one’s level of competency in French in any professional, academic, or mobility-related context.

This certification is internationally recognized by:

  • the French Ministry of Education
  • the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation
  • the French Ministry of the Interior
  • Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
  • Québec Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration
  • the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration

Diplomas: DELF/DALF, DAEFLE

The Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF) and Diplôme approfondi de langue française (DALF) are diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify non-Francophone candidates’ proficiency in French.

For the junior version–secondary-level students (13+), please refer to DELF Junior.

For children ages 8-12, please refer to DELF Prim.

The Alliance Française de Seattle is also an official exam center for the Diplôme d’aptitude à l’enseignement de Français langue étrangère (DAEFLE), the teacher training for French as a foreign language.

STAMP Test

At Alliance Française Seattle, we're proud to serve as an official Avant Assessment testing center, offering the Avant STAMP® 4S—a trusted, computer-adaptive test that measures real-world proficiency in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking for learners aged 13 and up. The French version uses authentic content—articles, audio clips, and everyday materials—to give you an accurate reflection of your ability to use French in real-life situations. 

This test is recommended for college credit by the American Council on Education (ACE), the same awarding body behind AP and ACT credits. High scores can lead to college credit or placement into advanced courses.

Ev@lang

Ev@lang is a 100% online test. It is designed to assess users' foreign language skills accurately and quickly. It is available on any type of support, whenever and wherever it is convenient for you, and you obtain your assessment as soon as the test has been completed. More about Ev@lang here.

PrepMyFuture: DELF & TEF Practice

PrepMyFuture is an e-learning platform which will help you to prepare for your TEF certification test or DELF exam. Each license (PrepMyTEF or PrepMyDELF) will allow you to train efficiently, simulate the exam conditions, track your performance, identify your weaknesses, and improve your skills with personalized exercises. Each license is valid one year.
