AFSeattle's French-Language Library

We are open to everyone, members and non-members alike, however borrowing privileges are for AFSeattle members only.

Come and immerse yourself in the French language with our extensive French-language collection of books and DVDs (the largest in Seattle!).

• Borrow up to 5 items with Individual membership (or 10 items with Family membership) at a time for a maximum of 2 weeks.
• You may return items at our office or at the library during library hours.
• Reservations are available via our online catalog [RESERVATIONS ARE PAUSED FOR THE SUMMER QUARTER - READ BELOW]:
  • Log in as a member
  • Select the books you'd like to reserve from our online catalog, and confirm your booking under "My Library."
  • Allow 4 business days for us to prepare your books, then pick them up at our office.

  LIBRARY CLOSURE - SUMMER 2026

Thanks to the incredible generosity of many donors within our community, we are expanding our space at the Good Shepherd Center this summer. We will be moving and expanding our library, moving our office, and adding two new classrooms to better serve you.

To facilitate these improvements, please take note of the following temporary adjustments:

• Our library will be closed during the summer quarter. It will reopen in September. This means that books cannot be reserved or checked out, and we are not currently accepting donations. You can still bring books to return if your borrowing is already in progress. 
• Our administrative office is moving to a new space directly across the hall. You will find our team in Suite 202 starting on Wednesday, July 8.
• Construction is underway for the renovation project. Please rest assured that these activities have been scheduled and designed so that they will have minimal to no impact on your classes.
