Immersion Trip to Northern France

The Alliance Française de Seattle partners with the Domaine des Florines to offer our community cultural and gastronomic trips to France with language immersion. Host Florence Bangue-Tandet, a French native from Lille, is a FLE instructor holding a Master’s in Teaching English/French as a Second Language from Seattle Pacific University.

The Alliance Française de Seattle and the Domaine des Florines propose seasonal one-week immersion programs in Marchiennes (northern France) which include daily cultural and historical trips and excursions, culinary experiences, and French classes to fully immerse guests in a French environment. 

Recommended level: A2+ and higher

Hosts & French Instructor

Florence & Michael Bangue-Tandet are French natives and long time Washington state residents. Florence is a FLE instructor holding a Master’s in Teaching English/French as a Second Language. She will be teaching daily French lessons to the group.

The B&B and Location

Located in Marchiennes, at the center of the regional natural park of Scarpe-Escault, the B&B has 9 renovated queen bedrooms & private suites, 3 studios, and a classroom. Nearby sights include Lille, Arras, Louvre-Lens, Roubaix, and more!

Culinary Immersion

Discover the specialties of the region through local and seasonal foods, with a perfect mix of homemade meals, gastronomic restaurants, and typical cafés and brasseries. At the B&B, enjoy a "cuisine bistronomique" with world and european inspiration, using fresh local producets.

Rooms & Rates

* Airfare not included.

Couples sharing a room: 50% discount for the second person (see double occupancy rates).
A 5% discount will be applied for returning participants.
AFSeattle members receive a complimentary bottle of champagne upon arrival.

Included in the rates: all meals, accommodations, visits, restaurants, tastings, classes, and daily activities.
Not included in the rates: travel costs (to arrive to, or depart from, the Domaine des Florines).
